This Saturday September 9, 2017 is the forty second annual New Braintree Fair from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
If your thinking of visiting the fair, please feel free to stop into Grass Roots Farm as you go by 860 West Brookfield Road, New Braintree.
We provide gourmet grass fed beef, pastured pork and pastured eggs for our local community.
We are a pasture based farm with 212 acres of land. We have 50 head of Red Devon cattle that are moved to fresh grass daily during the grazing season.
The biggest changes this year is our new on farm store and commercial kitchen.
Chef Scott Metcalf Grass Roots Farm will be preparing take home meals like meatballs in marinara, beef stew, chili and sweet smoky or maple chipotle pulled pork.
Another new addition this season is a rotary driveway with radiant heat is being installed in front of the store to provide safe year round access. It, unfortunately, will not be completed for next Saturday. So we will be having people park in the field across the street and walk across to the back where the fun is.
We will be providing farm tours and answering questions about the herd, pigs, layer chickens and pasture grasses. Double take a local Jazz quartet will be performing.
Our gourmet frankfurters and chili will be sold for lunch and grass fed beef stew for dinner. Then off to the New Braintree fair where they have food, beer tent, exhibits and then a bonfire.
We get a lot of drive bys on that day, so we are trying to introduce people to our new products. I would love it if the Music drew in 50 people all at once, the more, the merrier!
It’s casual, fun, up beat and educational. We want to show and inspire people to realize that local farming is first of all possible but also healthier for the environment and way more clean, nutritious and delicious for our health.
